Asinine Alas
Once again I rest upon this stool
This chair I kicked aside impenitent
Depleted and defeated in strength
Capitulated by my lassitude I surrender
Supposedly asinine I listen lethargic
Drift into the blackness of the blackboard
Epistemology, sentient, sapience, useless quotes
Their attempt to make me more than I am, and why?
Seemingly wisdom is something required and obliged
It will bring me a better mind and chances to succeed
But why so important, recommended, almost ordered?
Do I really need this and that, excrement and fact?
Like so much else, knowledge is man made
Estimated as precious as diamonds and gold
Like a bird approaching the alluring shiny coin
We give it artificial value, more than it’s worth
So once again I will rest upon this stool
Knowing I am about to waste another year
I gaze through windows in a mindless daze
And dream upon inertia clouds instead…
